Title: borbet a's
Post by: BobbyT on 22 January 2007, 15:17
i have been umming and aring about changing my tsw's for some time now and have been  considering several different ones. i have now set me little hart on some borbet a's in 16 by 7. i havent seen any mk1's with these on (as most people stick to 15's) and i would like to go bigger than the 15's i have now! will i have any issues fitting  these? and also do you reckon they will suit my ride? cheers for any input! rob

i think they'd look pretty fkin sweet if you had the centres colour coded

i'd like to try to persuade you to get the arch work done so you can run 9x16 on the rear too

me thinks you will need arch work doing... I think the wheels will suit your car, but get someone to photoshop the wheels onto a picture of your car to check.

yeah those would work, but do get them coded. Doubt you'l get away without needing arch work but it will be more than worth it. Do dubmodder have them as an option on the mk1? might be worth a look.

so you guys reckon go for the 7" fronts and the 9" rears? what sort of arch work will i need to have done, just a lip roll and maybe trim some plastic off the body kit at the rear? i never carry rear passengers so that might help? i dont really want to lose the rear arch trim every time i hit a bad bump! lol

for 9 ince rears i recon you will need a bloody miracle! Im sure it could be possible but iv no idea how much work will need to be done. Lots probably!

yeah i think your right buddy, been reading up and i think i will have to stick to 7'' all round to be practical, i use the car as my everyday ride and i have alot of speed bumps at work. should i stick with 35mm off set? i really want minimum fuss with clearance, i guess 195/40 rubber should be best too?
