i have a mk3 golf gti and cant get black trim bits looking good i use bumper care by auto glym but dont find it brillant any 1 use anything else thats sh!t hot
-
This has been discussed elsewhere on the site, think I last found something on it in the mk2 section... try a hairdryer or a heat gun (gently) on it. I've not tried it myself, but I'm going to give it a go when the weather improves...

back to black works ok, spray it on a cloth, then just wipe it on and bobs ya uncle!
-
I use Autoglym bumper gel and think thats very good, the key is to make sure that whatever your putting it on is very clean before you apply it and I use a sponge and go over everything twice then buff off with a clean cloth.

cheers 4 info
-
use turtle wax tyre gel, its awesome and lasts quite a while too. it also smells GORGEOUS!!!
-
have to agree with the turtle wax stuff, ive got there black in a flash and that works a treat! heard autoglym tyre stuff works well too!
-
I think its a case of trying different things and seeing what you get on with and gives the results your after
-
I thought shoe polish was the way forward???
-
i used black flash but it doesnt last
so i sprayed the black parts with matt black primer
-
i use autoglyms super sheen its a yellow creamy liquid works wonders
but believe it or not you can use TFR (traffic film remover)
and a interior more plasticy then a normal sponge did all my dash
and backs of seats with it and use supersheen on outside
autoglym bumper gel is good stuff to but i dont like that feel afterwards
all sticky
-
what does TFR look like when its done?
-
Taxi man told me this so i am not responsible for results, use Johnsons Baby oil for dash, tires and exterior trim, secret is to use a pair of the missus's tights, this way you won't get any white cotton stands with the cloth U R bufiing with

Some people on here recommend black shoe dye (rather than polish). One person suggested.....
wait for it.... smooth peanut butter. He claimed it works really well.
