Title: Clip inside boot

In the boot of the GTI (and other models of Golf?) there is a rectangular clip that looks like it should hold some bespoke item.  Any clues as to what it should be, as whatever it is I don't have one.

Should say it's on the LEFT hand side of the boot as you are looking into it from behind the car.

Mine is undeniably plastic...   :embarassed:

Think I'll use the strap (ooh errr, nudge nudge) to hold my fire extinguisher.

The plastic clip is for the VW warning triangle.

The elastic is for the VW rigid first aid kit.  :wink:

On mine it is rubber and holds a small pack containing the long service oil, some gloves and a little spout. Came in very handy recently when the light for low oil came on. I don't think I have a warning triangle or a first aid kit - are these extras?!

These are all in the RHS on mine.
The clip on the LHS was empty on delivery. I have no triangle or first aid kit  :angry:

When i had a my previos passats they both came with triangles and a top up oil supply in a rather neat litte castrol 'leatherette' bag.....in my golf, nothing

did anybody get these items in theirs?

the castrol pouch is the thing i have on the right. May have triangle on right but too cold outside to have a look now!
