i have mk3 1.6 cl. I have fitted 35mm stuts and springs all round. the problem is that the car seems to sit much lower at rear than the front. I know it is level but it just dont look right as the rear wheels sit nicelcy up2 the rear arch but the front wheels still look lost!
so i am wondering if there is anything i can do to lift the rear/lower the front slightly without buying new springs.
Also the car is fitted with 195/45/16 whhels and tyres. is it possible to drop it 60mm at the front without rolling the arches or removing the GTI spats?
anyone who can help please let me know. #
cheers guys

Fronts allways look way higher. I've just taken off a set of Eibach springs on standard shocks which did this.....and replaced them with a set of Wietecs...same effect. In some kits you are given the option for lower at the front but the Wietec gives the option for the rears to be raised to level them out.
I've opted for the level look as track/sprint mine and it needs some play as the Eibachs ate into my rear tyres due to the severe nature of the things I do
Best bet are coilovers if you want the height as switchable as possible...but looks like you will need new whatever to sort it out...just DON'T get those spring clamps or chop the springs as you will end up wrapped around a lamp post
If you are near Reading then contact Storm Developements in Aldermaston as they can offer tons of advice and can source some very well priced springs/shocks/coilovers

Mk3's from standard are 20mm higher at the front than back and this look's worse when lowered....you can but lower front spring cap's to lower the front by 15mm and 195/45x16's are very similar size to 195/50x15 so lowering by 60mm won't be a problem

when i put my coilovers on, my ended up being the other way round. the front was lower than the back even tho the mechanic said they were both set to the same drop. anyway had to drop the back a further 35mm, car looks much better, will post pics to show the difference

thats one thing i had thought of, chopping the springs...either the standard ones on the rear to lift it or the my old lowered springs. still, if any one knows where i can get some front 60mm springs cheap, or even 20 or 25mm rears then thats worth a try. it looks like it can go another 20-30 mm at the front, but dont want to fork out nearly 100 quid and find the front catch!!!
Also does anyone have problems tting the camber set up?
thanks for the help
