Title: 16v Vaccum Hoses and fuel valve on airbox...I need help :)
Post by: GaGti on 20 January 2007, 14:05
Ok well ive put the engine back in (finally), and there are vaccum hoses all over the place..what is the importance of these hoses from the airbox?

Are there any drawings for the vaccum system as the haynes manual doesnt mention a lot?

Also the car will not start unless a physically lift the fuel valve open with my finger "the one on top of the airbox, looks like a disk"...what allows this to open on its own?

Help  lol

this about the best I can do:

I think the big disk you are talking about is the air flow meter of the valver, wider the throttle, more air comes in forcing the disk open, the car will never run if all the bits are not "plumbed" it will be sucking air in from all over the place and won't no whats going on!

I might have the wring thing though just going off yoor description!
