Title: My suspension CRISIS! Please help?!?!
Post by: Chidub on 19 January 2007, 13:51
Hi guys
I'm wondering if anyone can help I've gotta Mk3 driver 1.8 on an 94, L plate
Its four stud with drums on the rear and I'd like to change it to 5 stud with discs.
What do I need for this conversion? Can I just bolt on the rear beam etc or will I need some special parts to fit this stuff?
I think I know what I need so here's the list:
Rear beam Inc: Hubs, bearings, disc and callipers etc,
Handbrake cable,
Rear shocks and springs x2
Front Shocks and springs x2
Front hub assembly x2 (inc: bearings, discs and callipers etc)
Do I need anything else??? I really hope you guys can help cause its making me

Here's an idea - why not buy a car with 5 studs hubs already??????

Or is that too sensible?

Seems like a lot of work and £Â£Ã‚£ to change to 5 stud, any particular reason why ?

Yeah there is a reason.. I've got to replace all my stuff anyway so I thought whilst I'm at it. Why not do it all so its setup for a 5 stud because there's a wider choice of rims and I'll have rear disc's which will (Hopefully) eradicate my brake fade.
But thanks for your help
If anyone ACTUALLY has some information that might be able to help me...can you let me know. If your just gonna sit there judging or taking the p*ss....dont bother posting!

Woaa, Chidub chill dude.

The reason I was asking is if you give some specific info (like you do in your second post) then you tend to get better answers.

Otherwise people wonder what the hell your doing BUT if you say I want to replace all stuff that is knackered then they see why.

I think suzy is on the right line as well.
