as i now seem to have alot of time on me hands i have been thinking of what i can do to the golf when i get back, now at the mo the car has some mk2 leather seats in it, they are in really good nick but the rear bench doesnt really fit correctly, so do i just bin the rear bench and strip the whole rear out (i have a stelth shelf and speakers but tbh they sound poo so i might as well bin the lot and just listen to the zorst note) i doubt i would get a cage as i think there a bit expensive for what you get but i would get a nice rear brace, so what do you reckon? will it look chav not having rear seats? :undecided:
-
Definetly not , more track day warrior / street racer / Brit look
-
so you think i should strip the back out?
-
Yeah get it done , ive seen some show cages that arnt too badly prices
Speaking of random ideas , how about Edition 30 black mk5 wheels on a mars red MK2 , with the inner rim painted mars red with the lower door striped mirrored , front and rear camber adjustment , lowered 80mm , deleted door mirrors , Full front windows , Leather trimmed mk1 dash , TT seats with the orange stripes from the origionals in the centre , and a MK3 Glass sunroof , oh and pop out rear windows
-
yours would suit being stripped out tbh...
wen mines off the rd all i think about is what i want and how much its gonna cost me!
thought you were toying with the idea of sellin?!
Dinx
-
yep get those rear seats out and smooth the interior - race spec
-
harnesess r a must if u strip the bck, hav them anchored 2 the cage, DO IT!! U KNOW U WANA
-
i was thinking of selling before christmas but i kind of changed my mind, it needs an mot when i get back so i might as well get that sorted and use it over the summer, i may sell next winter. i am getting drawn towards a mk3!! (i must be getting old) i fancy a nice 16v one? i am sure i will have other ideas by then though! lol
-
think if you strip the back out and do the harness and cage route some nice reclining buckets will be called for. not sure it would work with the mk2 leathers, though you'l have no problem sellin them im sure.
-
i see what your saying there but i dont want buckets and harnes's its not really my bag. maybe a cage would look good but i dont want to pay silly money for one.
-
1, dnt go down the mk3 route
2, cages & seatbelts dnt go
3, keep the classic
cheers
-
lol fair one foxy, the running costs of the mk1 that are getting to me, there always seems to be something but i do love driving it! its just the fact the rear seats dont fit, they look nice but there not secure.
-
Youd only regret selling it im sure
Some nice Trimmed buckets and harnesses
and as for a mk3 , is the heat getting to you out there ????
-
is there no way you can weld the rear bench secure, or at lest get someone to weld it in place. I think id rather see it with either the full interior or no interior. Half and half doesnt work.
-
i did ask a few places but they wernt keen to do it as they said they didnt want to be held liable if i had a crash, i suppose i could find somewhere out there to do it? :undecided:
as for the mk3 i keep seeing really nice ones about, you dont have to do much to make them look good, but i have never driven one.
