Any pics of the damage?

no i dont  have any, mainly cus the damage was minor, cracked offside light lense, and skuffed rear  upper and lower offside bumper, so they are replacing the lot. about £550 to repair all in+ mudflaps

Sounds not too bad given the accident description!

That blue looks spot on.  I've always been convinced that its a choice between Black and Red (or white if the missus doesn't get her say) but I think I'd have been tempted by that.

Think thats only if it is written off. And even then they grade the write off.

I was under the impression that it was recorded as accident damaged whatever that means - maybe (hopefully) I am wrong.  Its like a stolen car - people say 'stolen/recovered' in ads sometimes... does that mean the car was stolen and in some cases not damaged but still recorded?  If so, it penalises a car owner which is hardly fair.  I wouldn't want to be in an accident or have my car stolen only to have the vehicle repaired but then tarnished by this label of 'accident repaired' or 'stolen/recovered'.

It is only recorded stolen/recovered if the insurance company involved have paid out for a total loss. If it is recovered this does not apply, hence the appeal of a tracker. Unless they turn up at a burnt out shell!

Accident damaged means the car has been written off as the cost of repair exceeded about 75% of the market value, but the car is not so badly damaged that it is irrepairable. Hence some people buy busted cars from the scrappy really cheap and do them up. Then it is HPI recorded.

As quick as the Polo came, the GTI is back, well pleased with the results, I agree laney, i think this blue is great, shame they stopped making it, nearest to it now is shadow blue which is darker.I think because of the arrival of the deep blue r32 .

thanks for that - I'm definetly getting a tracker for the Edition 30 now...
