Title: Mods to engine and breathing
Post by: xxdansigxx on 15 January 2007, 14:06
Right iv'e seen a Mk3 2L 8v engine im wondering if the bottom end of that will fit my 1.8 16v head with kjet injection?

Also is it possible to fit a closed air filter with K-JET Injection?? or would i have to upgrade it to digifant??

thanx

Dan

Find a 9a, 6a or ABF engine. Any of them will do for a 16v.

As for air filters the best thing is just to stick with the standard airbox. If you want a bit more noise then on the later models there's a pipe you can remove. Failing that - drill some holes in the lower part of the box.

nice one

it's not noise realy just thought that a closed inducton system would give abit more go u know :d lol

what would be the main benefit of fitting the 2.0 bottom end i.e bhp and torque figures??

iv'e seen one from a seat ibiza 1994 that any good??

If it's not noise you want then just leave the induction and do the bottom end.

A 2.0 in good condition should see you the happy side of 160bhp and 140lb/ft when set up correctly on K-Jet.

I've got an ABF out of a Seat Cordoba in mine so the Ibiza engine will be fine. Just make sure it's a 16v!

^^  :afro: ^^

Generally people say pay no more than £300 for one, but it really depends on what mileage it's covered and how desperate you want one! Many people have had them for next to nothing but it's just pot luck as to what you can find.

Good Luck!
