Title: rusted front subframe/crossmember

ok serious one this   , anyone installed ,removed or welded a front suspension crossmember?  need some info on   labour times  , any special tools required  what to look out for etc;  i'm gonna replace steering bushes and roll bar bushes     mines rusted through    just at the  wheel end  of the track arm/wishbone a nice golfball sized hole    ,....???????? thanks

just replaced mine a few months back, I reckon on 2 hours labour to swap  the subframe if all goes well, and you know what you're doing. I'd never done it before so it took me a bit longer!

Just x your fingers and hope that none of the captive nuts have come loose... then you need to start cutting floors an cgassis legs to reweld the nuts.

no special tools required, socket set, spanners etc...

mine had snapped at at the engine mount (engine clunking about!) you need to support the engine while the subframe is off I used a gear box stand

Its not some thing you should weld.

yeah thanks men, dont like the sound o that alright, cUttin   floors  :cry:    :sick: i dont have any garage acess either so axle stands and blocks  to keep er  off the ground outside me front door  ,
