Im fitting an armrest into my mk2 gti, I have to remove the recliner wheels on the front seats but I am unable to work out how, anyone know the answer?
-
not sure but if its one of the ones available on ebay they suck! i bought one ages ago, it was such a bad fit i didn't bother trying to make it work and sold it straight on! shame as i like having an armrest!

you need a posidrive/philips screwdriver, but they can be BLOODY tight! Probably easier to just swap the backrests over, if its a 3 door the handles will be on the inside which isn't to big a deal, although you'll have to reach back further to put your belt on!

I was told that I would have to knock it through with a screwdriver and a hammer, is that right?
-
Do you mean to swap the seat tilt to the other side? I've not done it before but I guess it could be possible once you've removed the knob & trim covers...
-
only armrest worth having is the kamei one - the rest are all tripe fit as already said
-
It is gonna fit well once I have moved the seat adjusters, just dont know how
-
swapping the seat backs over is the easiest way, only some push pins on the trim and 2 C clips, then the backs come off the base! swap em over and then bobs yr uncle ;)
-
Is that for a three door?
-
same for 3 and 5 door. only difference is on a 3 door the tilt handles will be on the inside.

Thanks mate, will let you know how it goes
