Title: central locking probs
Post by: mk2gtimatt on 14 January 2007, 11:56
hey i have a mk2 (obviously!) gti and the central locking has died. it used to work, then it started going slow, so id lock the drivers door, and after a minute or so the other door would lock slowly! now i dont think its working at all.

any ideas? where abouts is the wiring for it and what colours are they so i can check them before spendig out on more parts!

cheers all

If you're locks have been operating slowly, it's more likely to be a vacuum leak than an electrical problem.  When you lock/unlock the drivers door, can you hear the pump running?  It's in the rear n/s if I recall correctly.

^ Thats where it is on mine, perhaps the C/L pump is wearing out ?
