Title: Differences in MK4's over the years
Post by: dsl55 on 13 January 2007, 20:30
I am looking at a few 1.8T's on Monday ranging from a 2000 on a V plate to a 2002 52. What differences should I expect to see between the early & late ones

Was there a significant facelift during this time, would the V plate look dated inside etc

Any advice gratefully received

I agree, I run a 2000 'v' and have mates with later cars & apart from minor things the biggest difference has got to be the turbo on later models, mine is an AGU code engine but I think later codes got the sport turbo, gives a  bit more push when it comes in, so many things were offered as options it gets difficult to tell what was fitted as standard spec, all I would say is make sure everything works especially if climatronic is fitted & obviously fsh, cambelt and w/pump change is a must
