I know this should really be in the Garage section, but I'd like to stick to the MK4'ers for your thought's & input.
I'm on my second MK4 GTI now - I noticed today that a few drops of water dripped from the top of my drivers door, wasn't much but it was noticable. My other one did the same. I got a VW cos I like quality being a bit of a perfectionist. Had a Honda Civic Vtec before this and that was solid, didn't rattle one bit too - beginning to think I should have waited a bit and got a Type R now :(

if you want a tin can buy a type-r, my mate has 30th anniversary edition type-r and that is rattly as F**k, mine has not leaked here, try cleaning the rubber seal, or check that it's still glued down properly, if you only just got it take it back to the garage.
hope you sort it,

I've got a 3-dr and one of the problems is that the doors are too heavy for the hinges and they drop over time, not helped by rear passengers using dooor as a leaning post as they get out. also if door rubber has been reset or re-fitted there is some kind of foil backing that should be fitted behind the rubbers so the seal doesn't slide about on the body work. I had the leaky drivers door and dealer fitted new seal and forgot the foil backing which made it worse!!! All sorted now though.

I had a leaky passenger door. Took it back to dealer who reset the door. no leaks now. As previous post the door drops so water gets in at the base or side. I do get a small drop from the drivers door but this is only when the door has been opened and it has been raining hard, don't get it when it rains.
Take it back to dealer to fix, and ask them to reset the door and test with high pressure washer.
