Title: MK4 front and rear calipers on a Mk2
Post by: Jamo_GTI on 11 January 2007, 11:52
A friend of mine has recently upgraded his MK4 GTI brakes and has given me his front and rear calipers as a freebie for my Mk2 8v

From reading on the forum it seems the rear calipers are a straight replacement.

Do the MK4 front ones fit on? and if so what parts do i need to make the setup work or is it easier to go the G60 route on the fronts.

All help appreciated.

rears bolt up, you just need goodridge conversion hoses, I think big boys toys sell them?  Can't remember off hand.
Fronts wont be so easy, MK3 discs have a different offset to MK2s, and I assume M4s do too, I'd assume they wont work.  If you're local to bracknell I have a set of 256 hubs I'm selling for £5, and happen to have 280mm discs I'm holding for a friend, so you could pop over and dry fit the lot together to check if they're gonna work :)
