Title: 8v GTI stalling
Post by: 8vgti on 20 January 2004, 13:58
I know there have been similar posts, but.......usually when my 8v GTI is cold when I slow down at lights or junctions the revs drop way down (2-300rpm) and sometimes the car will stall. This also happens when the car has been running for a while. Any ideas as it is well annoying. Vacuum leak or throttle bodies need cleaning???? ???

Throttle bodies mate. Or might temperature sensor. one or the other. Not expensive to sort tho.

I dunno mate. i bunged it in the garage and let VW sort it out under warranty.

Think it was definitely under ?50. VR6 might have more of an idea. dont think its a hard job tho. The carbon deposits just need cleaning out.
