I'm wondering how easy is it to repair surface rust on an oak green mk2?

im gonna keep my eye on this thread as i need to do some surface rust...say i sand down a patch of rust would i use a primer to seal it or is there something you spray on before the primer to seal the affected area. if anyone knows what the hell im on about let us know

get acid-etch primer, this protects against rust reappearing

cheers but would i be right in assuming that the proces is as follows acid etch primer> primer> then paint???

yep thats right bare metal,etch primer,couple of coats of high build primer,then your top coats,if its just very small blisters for a temp job to stop it spreading sand off the top rust and apply some of that Hammerite Kurust kind of stuff you can get from motor shops the kind of stuff that kills the rust and turns black as it reacts,works pretty good and the rust doesnt come back..

Hmmmm...im not an expert lol.

But i would rub down then use jenolite. then use a rust resistant primer........

I did that on a mates car...take off the surface rust with different grades of paper, brush on some jenolite and leave......then sand it down and prime then paint!

make sure its bone dry no water... rust normaly doesnt spread if its dry..... get a hairdryer on it before painting etc..... make sure there is no moistior on it!
