Title: Anyone had problems with steering wheel?
Post by: DubFan on 20 January 2004, 11:12
I'm hoping to get my G reg (small bumper) Mk2 16v GTI on the road this week, but when I've been manouvering it around the drive some black stuff has been coming off the steering wheel in my hands.

Anyone else had this problem?
Is it just years of dirt build up or is the wheel actually disintegrating?

It's the later model style wheel, the one with the big square horn section in the middle.
I could just go get another wheel from the scrappy.

Thoughts?
