Hi Guys
Changed the fluid in my noisey PAS pump, didnt make any difference, the one thats on there looks like a recon so didnt change it for the second one i had kicking around. Been told to try out this Slick 50® Power Steering Formula stuff, has anyone else tried it? Work? any good?
Or anyone got a good source for a new PAS pump?
Cheers
Knobby.

After i had a pump blow i was told to only use the genuine vw fluid as it has the correct lube properties the pump requires and other fluids damage the pump and kill them.
But no ive never used the slick 50 stuff. Your best replacing it really.

if these wonder oils and fluids were really as good as they claim its what would be the recommended stuff.

That's complete bollox. Strange how all manufacturers recommend only their own types of oil, coolants, etc. They are all one and the same, just repackaged and the prices hiked up.
Anyhow, slick 50 is good, but it is only a sealant and protector. Not an actual PAS fluid.

MK2 PAS kits use Dexron II ATF fluid, the later VWs need the special VW fluid however.
This was coming from an ex VAG employee, who is well respected ;)
