Very nice I thought.
I am looking at some Borbet A s and wondered if anyone has them or a photo on a mk 2? Thanks.
-
Brock B2's or some very similar :)
-
-
Looks like Borbet T's to me
. . . but then I always seem to get brocks and borbet confused!!

Pah

as they say on t'internet: pw4ned!
-
they could be brocks... ive got the b2's on my mk3, but it is outside and i cant be assed to go look to compare.
the center cap looks like the platin ones, but then again it could just be a wolfsburg one :undecided:

Thanks for the replies. Don't understand this though. Are these wheels unpopular - is it sacrilege not to go for the BBS look?
-
No not at all, you go for what you like the look of, it's all down to personal preference and taste.
Myself I love the BBS splits, but they aren't every ones cup of tea.

While I'm at it (I have looked for a FAQ on this but no luck):
My mk2 is lowered 40mm but is otherwise standard (pic in my sig is obsolete). I was wondering what is the widest 16" and 15" wheel I can fit without having to roll the arches. Would a 7.5" wheel be a problem? Thanks again.

The wheels in your sig are superb - how many 1000s would they cost me and what are they??
-
They were my old BBS RM's, they cost me £360 in standard form, but then I had the centres powdercoated grey and added the 2" outers, so all in all they cost me about £800. But I've now got a different set of splits which will cost just a teeny bit more.

Scour the classifieds on Edition38, as split's come up all the time.

Thanks mate. And the max width I should look at without rolling or surgery?
-
Splits on mine might be for sale
-
Yeah - I like 'em. Are they 15"? What width, would they fit without rolling, how much and what is your favourite colour?
-
Thanks mate. And the max width I should look at without rolling or surgery?
On standard arches 7", but with a slightly trimmed plastic arch you should be able to fit a 7.5" RM ok

OK cool. Is there extra space at the rear or does that apply to both axles?
-
Both front and rear will require a little trim if you pted for 7.5"
-
These are a complete bargain but I fear they would not suit my car:

Are you still ok at 7" if you fit a 16" wheel as opposed to 15"?
-
my dub knowledge is faily limited... but the theory is all the same so here goes.
7x16's on a mk2 shouldnt be too much of a problem, it depends mainly on the offset of the wheels... if u could get it so that the outside edge of the wheel sits just inside the arch, then even with an extreme lowering job u shouldnt scrub.
IM(rather limited)O 7x16's on about a 35-38 offset with 195/40/16 tyres shouldnt cause you much worries.
-
The ones I'm looking at are 195/45/16 - I'm wondering if that's too large. The company that sells them says straight on with no problem, but then they would.
-
do you know the width and the offset of them?
and in all honesty mate... 16's on a 40mm drop shouldnt be a problem on a mk2!

Yeah - 7" and ET38 with 195/45/16s. Fine I guess. Thanks for everyone's contributions - a quality forum this
