Hi, Johns the name , new to the forum and was hoping for some assistance.
I am at the final stages of ordering a new 2.0t GTI and would like to order the car with recaros .Both VW and the local dealer are unable to tell me anything about the seats, other than "they are nice",would anyone on the forum be kind enough to advise ? send any photos?
Cheers
John

The std seats are very good, and provide an excellent balance between support and not being overly intrusive. They always get a complement from anyone who sits in the car.
Looking back, some of the older Recaros were b*ggers for catching your elbow. But they look good.

"they are a pain in the ar5e" - but they look nice for the first month - AVOID THEM - the standard GTi / R32 seats are superb!

I actually like these seats. They are comfortable, look the part and are very supportive. My only critisism is that on my 3 dr, the seats dont automatically slide when they are tilted! you have to pull the lever under the seat which is the same one that adjusts how far you sit from the steering wheel. The lever which tilts them sits in the holes at the top of the seat, where racing harnesses would go through.
Not seen in flesh the other seats, so cant comment, but for looks alone, I will opt for these very time.

Look nice yes. But HOW MUCH???? Not worth it imho.

haha, yes those recaros are for the more fuller sized people that cant fit into the standard gti seats!

The GTI seats were good.....but the heated leather recaro's are sublime, i'm biased though as i've got them in my R32. Having said that i bought my R, used. I dont think i could swallow the £2400 price tag :undecided:

Actually I went for a test drive in a new R32 3 weeks ago and being a "large chap" found the seats very uncomfortable. I got a call from the dealership in Warrington asking me if I wanted a six month one and when I asked why the guy got rid of it guess what? He was a big guy to!
