Title: Interior Strip

I'm after the interior strip that runs across the dash...the really shiny black plastic one..Ill get pics up if your confused my my vagueness lol I bought the car and it was missing..Ive asked VW and they have said that they have discontinued making them, apart from scrappys anyone got an idea where i could pick one up?

you mean the chrome strip along the middle of the dash? If so its virtually impossible to remove without breaking it, unless you take the dash out and drill it out from behind.  Swaping the dash isn't difficult, a mint mk2 dash is easy to come by these days.

Yeah thats what im after..I dont wanna really buy a new dash for the sake of a strip...I bought another mk2 gti for spares and i tried removing that one and it broke..was gutted, is it in every mk2? if so ill have 2 try scrappys and hope it doesnt break

yeah all mk2s have em.  problem is its kinda plastic welded round the back and the strip is very brittle.  Dash out is an easy job, once the switches & surround are all removed the dash is held in with like 6 bolts!
