Right every one we know how much we all love our vdubs or we wouldn't be hear would we well i just want to know what things about your vws you hate, things like if you don't like the hand break leaver on your mk3 or you don't like the way the seat mechanism works on your mk2 that kind of thing or maybe you have had a car that really made you blood boil i want to hear about it.
Ill start you off, a few years ago now i wanted a cheap run around and stumbled across my first vw a white mk2 1.3 F reg i payed £750 it was taxed & tested and really i should not of expected a lot from this car. I went against the first rule of car buying and let my heart rule my head and brought it, I had big plans you see wheels etc. I'm not going to go into detail because you will fall asleep before you read all i have to type but ill cut a long story short I ended up hating this car with every fiber of my being. Absolutely every thing went wrong with this car it leaked water inside, outside it leaked oil nothing worked etc etc. In the end i sold it got another and have loved every other vw Ive owned and Ive always checked cars properly before i parted with my cash ...
-
i hate the fact that if she need sumthing, the cab that is, i have to buy it..cant put it off but hate parting with my cash for the polo!
i hate going to shows and then lookin at my car and finding all the imperfections
i hate that i have a lhd carpet and seats, hopefully gettin changed next yr, but like the sun visors as i get the mirror
i hate how much i have to pay for oil..
thats it fer now..
Dinx
-
I hate the fact that i want more and more power out of my golf but cant afford a vr6 engine in it let laone the insurance.
After driving my mums corsa i have nothing to complain about in my golf.
-
I hate the stupid abs on my dub, wish i never had it, its to expensive.....oh and also the handling .......love the looks of my car though mk3z are  lookin.
-
I hate vw gearboxes and clutches......Why are vw gearboxes so complex....full of little ratchet's that split and cause all sort's of fun and vw clutches!!!! the one's that are backword...where the flywheel goes on the outside...I will never attempt to change one again
But i do love my vw build quality....how many car's feel as well made as a vw...

Hate List (especially MK2 & Corrado)
1.Crappy door handles - easy to fix I know but I could open my own museum of knackered ones!
2.Leaky door seals/sun roof/door cars etc...I think every VW I've owned comes with a free pool in rear footwell
3.Dodgy headlights in general (including self detonating heading switches and by being 0.5 candle power)
4.Gti seat bolsters are S**t!
5. not having the cash to fit a 16v turbo/G60
Love List (oh..er missus)
1.Handling
2.Looks
3.Cool VW forums - don't want to generalize but if you look up other car make forums they're generally full of cack
4.Awesome build quality - with golfs it seems older the better (from MK3 backwards!!!)
5.Decent engines
6 Gearboxes -(I agree they are cack to repair) especially the on Corrado G60 & Mk 2 16v - the gear ratios are excellent - much better than my crappy beemer one
-
I hate the fact that my golf is very high maintenance, as soon as I wana start saving for something my car decides it wants that money for itself! Something seems to go wrong before I need to take a long journey too. So I hate that it takes so much money lol I think I got the Friday afternoon model golf
-
i hate that mine still isnt on the road yet!!! either of them!
i just hate the way people dismiss it as an old car, thats the only thing that bothered me
-
I hate the fact that no matter how nice you get you're golf looking you will always be classed as a "boy racer"
-
Boy racer with style though........
-
Come on there must be more than that.....
-
i hate the fact that i love the car so much when all it is really is a flying brick, i hate the fact that my neighbour always takes the piss out of it, as he has Renault alpine, Triumph Stagg, ld minis, etc. I also hate the fact that i am learnign the hard way to become a mechanic with this car. It has to be right, no other car i have had, i have been so dedicated, strange really
-
i hate the fact that my love for vw's have cost and lost me thousands over the years... i wont lie and say i havent made a few bob out of buying em of peeps that dont know what theyve got then tartin and sellin to peeps who will pay the right money for em... but thats the way of the world.....
i hate the fact ive got nearly £5k to buy another dub and cant find anything i like.... still go the vr6 at mo but thats going nect week, and a mk2 is taking its place as my track toy... no rallyes or decent g60's to buy so i might go looking into other brands...
-
thats a shame gaz just dont buy another hair dressers car pls :P
-
RS2
-
shows how much i know i thought and rs2 was a motorbike
-
i hate the fact that most girls think a mk2 is a old sh*ter and that a fiberglass 1.0 litre corsa with a snow plough on the front is good! i love the fact we make their spotty cap wearing hood rat boy frends look like twits when they think they can out pace a gti
-
Hear Hear like that one mate...........
-
I hate - Nothing about my car.
I love - knowing that i own a car with style, taste, and heritage. A car that i can repair myself, something that gives me pride driving. A car that i know isn't going to fall apart with time, and overall with a badge that is recognised throughout the world as being a pioneer of the GTI badge.

here is what you say next time someone questions why you have an "old car" :afro:
-
I hate - Insurance costs, petrol consumption, the amount of bodywork i need to do on mine, and, as chrishodge06 said, the fact that girls think my car is some dodgy banger hile my mates crappy 206 and 106's (that mummy buys them...) are great!
-
I hate the fact my mrs dont understand why i buy older cars when i colud afford some thing newer...
-
Hate - thinkin something is goin wrong with it coz I just know its goin to be expensive
- the idea that because it is modified people think im a kev. The lack of add on sh!t, neon lights and fake carbon fibre is surely a give away.
- it only bein a 1.4, not because its slow, because that makes people consider it not worth modifying. Its my car and is perfect for what i need, and now, looks great :smug:
Love - that its a black 3 door mk3
-
I didnt realise it was a 1.4 mate looks like a vr or something very nice. You say about being expencive i know that when some thing goes on the vr engine its time to take out a loan .....
-
most people do, thats the trick. I have thought many times about gettin it 20vt'd but theres so much work involved and Id rather spend it on my next toy, a camper! Thanks though.
-
hmmm hairdressers car... lol... ill have you know that my mk1 mr2 was actually one of the most pleasant and quickest little n/a cars ive ever driven!! he he,,,,..... now a mk2 version with 300 bhp would be a serious perm mobile if ive ever seen one....lol..
nah not sure yet... i know slick keeps sayin rs2 but i cant stretch to them... and the normal s2's just dont cut it... so unless some one can find me a rallye or g60 for £4.5 or less then im gonna be looking elsewhere for my bhp kicks as ive got vr6 at mo and theres nowt else i fancy... lol..

-
How about a vr6 mk2 for the ultimate sleeper or a mk1 with something else in it i know a youth who used to have a mk1 with a 16valver in it that was quick there was a mk1 with a g60 in it on ebay last month bet thats mental....
