Hiya VW peeps
I need your opinion on go faster stripes on a golf mk3, should i get them or not? I have a mate who can vinyl me up for free If I wanted to but I am very undecided. Looking at piccys of mk3's I haven't seen 1 with them on so what should I do?
cheers!
-
remember that these really do make the car faster and can increase brake horse power by up to 3 times standard so go for it mate golf to porsche its that simple.
-
mmm ive heard the same well it worked on my first car gave me an extra 20bhp! ....lol u numpty  I know its a lil boy racer'ish I was just wonderin' ...... so that would be a no from you lololol
-
Yeah, do it, then you can go cruising.
-
What you thinking of
my mk1s gettins its stripes back
-
Yeah, do it, then you can go cruising.
Nah, it's kroozin mate. Init.
-
As my vw is a dark blue I was thinking of silver stripes, one would be 3inch and the other 5or 6" they would be set off centre with an emblem of somesort on the bonnet. (ty for replys btw folks )
-
All im sayins is less is more
-
they look sh!te hun
but if its what you want..
Dinx
-
Please do it, itll be well funny have you got some little blue lights to sit in front of the windscreen oh and those ultra yummy dust caps that light up aswell finish off by running her down to the local scrapyard and introducing her to the crusher with gusto!!!
-
If you do stripe it....you must add a drainpipe tailpipe (not a full exhaust tho) the bigger the better....try using some drainage pipe (you can pick this up at many building site's and it's free when dark!!!)
-
ok ok ok i get the picture! lol max you sound 60+ (no offense to members tht are ) but you are the same age as I am 'sarcastic' must be your middle name! mind you might damage my paint work if i do install and don't like them. lol the general feel of the forum is to leave the mk3 alone! lolololol
-
Yeah, do it, then you can go cruising.
 I love going cruising! Especially round Scarborough sea front, you get a hell of a lot of stares when your in the golf, cept the glance if your in a corsa or 106!
Like everybody repects the dub :smug:
Obviously the two think viper stripes down the centre look completely gash unless you've got a dodge viper or 1967 mustang GT 500.. however thos new ford fiestas look quite funky with the two thin, off centred stripes.
If they are free you may as well try it and see what it looks like, if you do it properly you won't damage your paint work.

prap prap prap bling bling.
yeh den wot youz can doz is go downz der tawn centa and do some ov dem wikkid moves and burnouts an stuff lik dat. U will be well wikkids innit.
-
lol slick! yeah ty for the replys peeps, Im going off the idea 'cos I don't really want to catch the attention of the 5 O kind (guess I'm gettin a lil old lol) I think I'll keep it euro style ;P
-
has anyone realised that the only people who go cruizin have no life or mates to speak of so spend theyre time in mcdonalds car parks irritating people on friday nights they should all be thrown in the crusher along with theyre pimped out twit mobiles and once crushed burnt for good measure its a service to be provided thats wat i say!
-
in short, no, you shouldnt put go faster stripes on your mk3. It will look crap. Only thing they ever looked good on was a ford gt (and maybe a dodge viper) but thats it!
-
dont forget the huge anodised wiper spoiler , that over time fades from a red to a gay pink , i think escort mk4's and 1.6 cavaliers came with them as standard . just like those standard fit glowing washer nozzles and fake alloy chrome plastic spinny gayness wheel trims. oh and declare your now entering 'chav' status :D
-
hey fitting stripes...you wont be the first

hmmmmm nice and check that rear spoiler
-
Hey! That's my ride!
-
Hey! That's my ride!
Gutted.
-
lol please say your kidding about it being your ride! , lol thats just awful    . they spent the money on stripes , text and spoiler but forgot important things like lowering it and decent looking alloys , and god forbid those bonnet catchs!
-
lol ths the first golfy Ive seen with them on, yeah I must say that spoiler makes it look crappy! I think 15" 5spoke alloys, clear lights all round and maybe lowering if i can be bothered. Ive only had my dub for a few days now! ;P had a few stone chips and a big deep key scratch which ive managed to conceal with a chip stick and polish (which will hopefully last fingers crossed) my ruddy steering belt was slack and made my slow speed turns a pain, but I got under her took the panel off n tightened tht nut! all is well now  yeah I'm defo gunna leave the stripes, might ask him to put me a sun strip on(dnt tell me sun strips look crap too!) and tint my windows
-
erm, i hate to see it, but...... :lipsrsealed: :embarassed:
-
Ahhh dubtastic i have found inspiration for you

choices choices choices.....
-
yeah, thats how to f**k up a golf without using go faster stripes! all the added weight from the stickers on the first one help to make it sit a little lower too dont you know!
-
(http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k165/boneybradley/mulbers85golffront.jpg)
Hang on.... ain't that sacvws golf...
-
no, its not got the bright blue m3 mirrors. must be its work in progress twin!
-
ok 1 last one......and it's a mk3 Vr6 this time
(http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k165/boneybradley/hoolie-vr6-red.jpg)
Now this is giving me idea's.....
-
its like when you see a saxo with a big sunstrip saying SAXO........ no way it looks exactly like a Skyline?!!! heard an amazing phrase on top gear "mobile Halfords" new phrase hehe
-
lololololol
Just clear lights and the 5 spoke alloys for me, methinks
-
Yep, they're a great idea!
Then get a 12' high spoiler, 22" 4x4 alloys, tint all the windows with tinting roll & install an ICE setup that makes the car rattle...pimp!
