Title: strange noise?

whilst driving today at a slow speed i noticed a quiet pulsating noise coming from the engine bay, near the dash. Anyone got any ideas? or is it just a vw thing?  cheers.

what happens when you open the bonnet, do you hear it then?  I have noticed a continuous metalic tapping noise, see my older thread...

i wouldn't say it was tappity sounding, more like a droning sound, i'm thinking stereo or wiper motor?  i'm listening for it all the time when i'm driving.

i have a strange noise on mine too prety sure its the front wheel bearings get them checked out at your dealer.

Hi, just wondering if you ever solved that? im experiencing sometimes the same but sometimes more of a knocking noise

my stealer said it was normal and I made him start up another GTI so I could compare.  :smiley:
