Is that right? (full of yellow crap)
I have a basic understanding of engines but really cant afford to go to a dealer at the moment, would love to fix it myself
Obviously i need to replace both parts, but what does it doo? and can i run the car without it ?

Iyts a breather as far as I know mate. Thats probably why its wasnt running right on idle
-
cheers la. so its a replace and hope for the best?

yep, the white buildup is completly normal, its just condensation from the engine block. Its worse this time of year, especially if you only do short journeys. Try to get the pipes from a scrappy if you can, VW are pricy!

Thanks peeps, just on the lookout now for the parts, ill have a ride around the scrappys tomorrow i think,
£31 + Vat for the small rubber bit from the stealers :-0
