140out of my white mk2 vr not pushed it yet need a quiet road

just under 130 out of my white mk2 when it was a 8vgti

Post by: maximk2 on 23 December 2006, 18:25: indicated 130 in my 8v digi have a sneaking suspition that maybe slightly optimistic. The point of gtis is acceleration and handling not outright speed. Ever wondered why a lotus elise maxes out at just 126 mph? its cos it doesnt take any bloody skill to acheive max speed. Track times are a different matter cos they matter.

calmed down a bit but did learn alot , like how to heel n toe , and take on cars much larger and faster than your own

like neaty tho ive calmed ALOT since back then

other than that on the land err...

about 180 on my zx9r only for a second to see what it would do.. and too fast for me!!

did 155 im me mates old bmw m3 evo after dropping him off at airport... (apparently it would have gone faster if derestricted or something?)

and fastest vw is the vr6 track hack... had 142 showing on the clock.. but it doesnt feel safe at all...

all of the above were on a private runway... hehe

152mph in my old 254bhp series 1 rs turbo about 8years ago.
180mph in a 540bhp cossie about 10 years ago.

However haven't had the chance to put my foot fown with my new engine.. *watch this space*

Wowser Nick, that's not bad going ! :grin: I've not pushed it anywhere near that as compared to my mk1 it feels like a rocket anyway. :cool:

not been over 100 in the 16v as im a bit more cautious after a 100mph+ accident in the 8v.

Post by: Daz... on 02 January 2007, 15:58: 86mph in a my old mk2 fiesta 1.1L ( the L was important back then, I was a student)...it was down hill with the wind behind me and if the speedo was as good as the rest of the car it was probably doing about 55mph.
