Title: wheel arches?

how do i get 17" alloys on a mk2/3 cos i tried on both and they keep rybbing on both. do i have to cut the wheel arches or wot?

they bolt a special roller on your wheel hubs (with the wheel off) and carefuly stretch the arches so that your wheels dont rub.

Think thats the way. ::)

got 17" vodoo on golf gti mk 2 8v with a magnex back box (which is massive) and lowered 35mm and dont get no rubbing, even with 2 adults in back of car.

I rolled mine with a hammer, just stuck the plastic arches on again afterwards after some trimming of the plastic. Now it doesnt rub ;D

I painted around the arch with underseal before i stuck it back on. No chance of rusing through that, its like painting tarmac

I had the same problem when I got 17's. Had to get mine rolled. they clean all the sh!t out from inside the arch and fold the lip up inside. then cut off the top of the plastic cover and stick it back on. you can rivot the bottom, but you have to glue the top on cos there's no rivot holes anymore.
