Weitec suspension kits are meant to be good, around £250 for the kit.
You can get kits that lower 40/40, 60/40 or 60/60 i think.
Hope this helps

ok so ive seen so Weitec Ultra GT Series Sports Suspension Kits for about £250 how hard will they be to fit i mean will i need any special tools ie spring clamps ?

would these be worth the money ? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Brand-New-VW-Golf-Mk-2-3-VR6-Coilover-Suspension-Kit_W0QQitemZ300062682219QQihZ020QQcategoryZ9889QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

im on the same boat, ive got a 1995 tdi, the previous owner lowered the back of the car 40mm but not the front because he had "bother"(i dont know how much truth there is in this) aparently the car has bilstein shocks on the front, (how will i know if this is true?) i want to just go for a coilover kit. ive seen jamex kits on ebay for below 300notes, although i know basically nothing about car suspension as i come from a motocross background so could someone please advise me on jamex coilovers, are they worth the casheesh or are they junk? i dont wish to have mega adjustability, i just want the car to look good and retain standard if not better handling.
cheers, ps sorry to highjack slightly

One thing to remember when buying coil over kit's, is how many times will you be adjusting them as a friend has an fk kit which has seized solid (something to do with the adjuster bit's being made from steel!!!) so he can't adjust the ride height now, I have gone for uprated shocker's and eibach spring's. much more cheaper and if your going to be using your car often (specially this time of year with the salt and that) This is my recomendation
(p.s mark the mk3 allready sit's 15-20mm lower at the back than the front and with the spring's you state that would be 60mm!!! and if they are bilstein they will be black (if o.e replacement's) or yellow if they are sports range)

ok you changed my mind if you where to recommend a full suspension change what would you reccommed i dont really want to spent more than £300 for then if you could give me the make of shocks and what spring or just give me the model numbers and recconed the supplier that wold be great thanks when you say uprated shockers what type are they and will this drop the car much i didnt want to slam the car in the first place thanks

For shocker's try boge turbo front and rear and for spring's you want eibach streetline (which will only lower by 20mm). with this set up the ride will still be good and your handling will be much improved and you should be able to buy shock's and spring's for under £300 (and remember these are quality part's)...if you want lower try eibach sportline spring's for -40mm.......one thing to check is the diameter of your front strut's as these change on 94/95 .....this is a good set up as I have being running this for a couple of month's (after recieving much advice on here) and isn't over hard and you will keep your filling's!!!!!

nice one i shall see if i can find any thing on the net shall get back to you with some prices maybe you will be able to tell me if they are any good thank

But you said it would only drop the car 20mm right ? i take it these are the ones im looking for right as for the shocks still trying to look anyone point me the right way i think euro car parts do them but not the turbo i dont think
