Morning all!
I have a question for all you guys and Peaches if you'd be kind to assist....
MKIII GTi 84k miles, it has been regularly serviced by VAG dealers plus one local, but I want toget my hands dirty - its been a long time!
I am going to change the oil over th holidays and want to put synthetic oil in (Castrol) having had newer cars in the past they have run better between servicing, engine wear etc.
The engine is sound and does not blow any oil, last service was 7k miles ago.
Should I stick with what has been put in, GTX multigrade or equivalent or synthetic?
Look forward to your replies

It's up to you, but most people on here will advise you use VW's own Synta Silver with a genuine VW oil filter.
You can get the Synta Silver from VW (Obvioulsy  ) or from GSF, I don't need to tell you where's cheaper.

Apologies, you kind of forget that not everyone will know. GSF will do the genuine oil filters too by the way.
