Title: gti dash clock's...can you fit 16v clock's to an 8v

just wondering if the clock's form a 16v (160mph) will fit into my 8v (140mph)... I have a spare set and instead of repairing my 8v clock's using part's from this set I was thinking of slotting them straight in.. would they work ok????  and would the speedo read correct!!!, the plug is the same on both .....  :undecided:

Yep they'll work fine, only issue is the rev counter will have the red line in the wrong place :)
