just bought the car and the doors needs a bit of a bang to close it because its sits a bit low.
so how do i sort it and is it much work?
-
My passenger door did feel like it sat low but i adjusted the door lock mechanism and it shuts perfect now :)
-
this does sit low though maybe an inch or two is it just a matter of replacing the door pins?
-
not sure mate. my dad used to fix these problems by putting a car jack under the door ::)
-
well i thought of that already it just lifted the car then when lowered its still the same must be that trusty vdub build quality again! id rather sort it properly so it doesn't happen again.
-
my drivers door droped on my old golf i replaced the door pins'moved the door lock and mechanism+ abit of greace and was perfect untill some1 broke into my car with a crow bar and bent the whole door back (wan!ers

shay is ur mota Jade green??
me thinks it looks fappin' awesome!!!! ;D

sweet motor mate ;D!!!!!!!! yes mate mines jade green alot of people have told me it rare ::)

to fix the door all you do is get a wheel stud and jam it in the bottom door hinge and gently close the hinge, this will correct the sag in the door
dont close it too hard or you'll over correct it, just do it slowly bit by bit
if you do over correct it then just put the wheel stud in the top hinge and do the same.
i detailed this for the mk1 boys, its the same for mk2's

cheers mate il give that a go very helpful! ; )
-
what is a wheel stud ::)
-
Seem's to be a common fault on most mk2's..I find on most if you just get hold of the door and give it a yank up it seem's to work. ::)..Not sure it will work on your's though.....Not with the drop you have....... :-\
-
what is a wheel stud ::)
its one of the four bolts that holds each of your wheels in place
-
Just don't forget to screw it back on the wheel when you're done ;)
-
wont it put a crease in the door? what about a scratch ???
-
your putting the stud in the hinge itself so it never touches the body or the door
-
ohh ok :D
Try it out later
