Title: Autoglym lifeshine
Post by: laney on 19 December 2006, 14:00: Just had the Autoglym lifeshine treatment applied to my DB gti. Looking absolutely stunning at the mo. It'll be interesting to see if it makes it any easier to keep clean.

Dealer had offered this for Ãƒâ€šÃ‚£250 but after a bit of research I found that you can buy the kits off ebay for about Ãƒâ€šÃ‚£20 and do it yourself. I was going to do this until I found carvalet.co.uk who are currently offereing 50% off for the midlands area making it Ãƒâ€šÃ‚£100. Given limitations on my time at the mo (read as christmas shopping with the girlfriend) I decided to get these guys to do it and couldn't be more pleased with the service - despite having problems when their van wouldn't fit into the work car park this morning. :grin:

All in all, it looks like a good investment :smiley: - but I may have changed my mind after a couple of days driving this time of year :grin:

Worth it IMHO, the car was/is very shiny (also Diamond Black) but it does get dirty easily in the current climate. I have since polished the car several times with Autoglym products but I intend to add some good wax (probably Meguires Gold Class) to further protect the paint in the spring. Polish or paint sealers alone do not leave the surface super slippery and shiny like a good quality wax does.

Post by: laney on 20 December 2006, 09:07: Is this what the Extra Gloss Protection in the lifeshine kit does? I was also thinking about getting some Ultra Deep Shine (not included in the kit i got). I will probably try to stick mostly to Autoglym products as I have always used them in the past and got on with them fairly well, and on the off chance I ever need to claim against the lifeshine warranty at least I can say I have stuck to their products. But then again if i dont get the shine I want then I may be tempted by some megs.

Post by: Phil mcavity on 20 December 2006, 18:06: i was offered lifeshine for Ãƒâ€šÃ‚£400 by my dealer when i bought my gti, took it cus he pressured me to sell it in the deal cus i drove down the cars asking price, but little does he know i cxled the lifeshine 1 week on and received my Ãƒâ€šÃ‚£400 back from vw uk!!. ill go to halfords, spend Ãƒâ€šÃ‚£15 on decent autoglm polish, and jobs good as done :grin:
