Title: Ticking Noise
Post by: pereirs on 17 December 2006, 21:17
Hi,

Yesterday car started making ticking noise constantly and its driving me nuts. It seems to be coming from underneath the glove box, i dont know if it be some kind of pump or somet...but when i press the button to turn on the internal air circulation, its stops for a second then starts again...any ideas ?? thanks.

Maybe something i.e. a leaf has managed to get past the filter and is caught in the fan :undecided:

yes got air con......... i ripped out the glove box, then moved a fan that was there, the noise seemed to be coming from a small black box thats i just couldn't get to without taking out all the housing, eventually gave up after 1 1/2 hour... was doing my head in. was hoping to disconnect some leads or something but impossible. looks like some hefty labour cost for this one.

if youve got the climatronic then there is a common fault with a part behind the glovebox.

have a look on vw vortex for it
