Title: New Here - My MK1

Hi all, just signed up *waves* :)

I am the very proud owner of an Golf MK1 :) & I luv it to bits!

Anyway it's an '83 TinTop (Originally Y reg i believe), i've always been a VW enthusiast (despite only driving for a year and a 1/2) :) I stumbled across this at auction and had to have it.

Was rebuilt & reregistered in 2001 & I have over 600 odd receipts along with a fairly decent history.

I havn't done anything to her at all cosmetically - what you see is how i found her at auction.

Long term plans are to:
- Replace Alloys as i'm not a fan of the TSW Stealths that are on there.
- Remove colour coded bumpers & fit small bumpers (preferably chromes - i'm willing to wait ;))
- Replace the ridiculous exhaust, - it's too big for the system anyway and blows slightly

Anyway nice to find another good Vdub forum :)

It is indeed a Porsche colour - green variant :)

Just put a new alternator & belt on along with oil change, new oil filter, new coolant, and some B44K Performance flush :)

Got some new alloys on the way as well - (don't tell her though it's a suprise for xmas day!)

Im goin to have to pull my finger out n get mine done for the show season ,

 cant miss out on it , Mk1s n 3s seem to be growing in numbers round here at the moment too

Yeh usually although at the moment it's not as the mixture keeps adjusting it's self differently and it's flooding a tad. - Exhaust started blowing today, turns out I have a bad leak where the 4 branches of my manifold meet in 1 - can't really weld it so needs replacing. - Gonna wait till i get some cash and stick a Stainless SuperSprint system on it :) (as atm it's still all original).

If it was re-registered in 2000, is it now a Q plate then? If so, how does yuor insurance company view that?

I was told it was reregistered by a previous owner, but looking at the V5 i presume it's not as it says first registered in February 14th 1983..
