Since August after running the car and switching it off it just wouldn't start again. After a couple of minutes it would run. Two weeks ago it came to a complete stop whilst driving. When i tried to start it it would keep turning over with no joy. RAC said it was the coil. Coil replaced with new leads, distributer cap, rotor arm and spark plugs. It turned over a few times and started. Then stopped again and would not start. Sent it to a garage and they checked the fuel pump which is working perfectly, checked the spark and its all fine, tightened the timing belt and cecked the teeth which showed no problems. Its being diagnostically code read on monday??? But i'm not convinced and i'm getting a little frustrated !!! Can anyone please help ???

ecu relay is about £11 from vw (don't go for an unknown branded one to save a few quid) and how much have you being quoted for the fault code read??? Make sure they read the code's, print them, clear them and read them again as you can get lot's of codes come up for no reason on the first test and then disappear!!!
