Hi all just wondered what the best oil to use in a vr6 was, mine has done 136k miles and i don't know what the last owner has been running on. I didn't know if it would be best to go for some good quality semi - synthetic or with my motor having a few miles under its belt go for a thicker standard oil i know Castrol do a oil for higher mileage cars any info would be great cheers.........

Synta gold is recommended for vr6.

I use Castrol GTX Magnatec 10w 40, in my VR. It's been in a good number of months and still looks like it's new. It is said that Synta is the best oil, but when the Castrol has done so well I will use it again!
