The oil temp sensor for the mfa is? is it on the block or what? ???
-
I think it's in the oil filter housing, near the pressure switch. Single terminal with a "nail" type head, white -green wire I think.
Steve.

16v is on the back of the block. not sure about 8 valve though.
-
On the top of the oil filter housing, small slide on female spade connector on the top. It slides on from the side as I found out the other week ::)
OP
-
aiiii. the front is the temp and the rear is the pressure. I have a oil pressue sender screwed into it ;D
-
so if i got volts, oil temp and pressure gauges i put the audi twin post sender in the rear of the oil filter mount for the oem sensor to attach to and the oil pressure gauge to attach to as well? if you know what i mean!
whats the thing on the right side of the block just under the cylinder head? how do i connect up the oil temperature gauge? ???
HELP!!
-
or can i put the twin post sender in the side of the block and have oem oil pressure and the gauge running off that?
i could then attach the oil pressure gauge to the stock one on top of the oil filter mount?
would this mean i wouldnt have a temp reading on the mfa?
i have heard you can get t pieces to resolve this but where from??
???

I think I know what your trying to do, remove the oil press sensor from the filter housing, fit the "twin post" sender in its place. Wire the oil pressure guage to the correct terminal and the oil light to the other. Oil temp wire, just link into the wire that "talks" to the MFA and both should work ;).

the one on the side of the block is the 0.3 bar oil pressure point. the one on the back of the oil cooler is the 1.8 bar point. you only need it on the 1.8 bar point. the temp goes infront of it, but it's very close to the dizzy.
-
ok i will leave the thing on the side of the block alone!
i wil put a twin pole sender onto the 1.8bar location on the filter housing and wire it for a)the original sender and b)for the new gauge
The temp one is there something there that i just connect to or do i need a whole new sender?
cheers for your help guys much appreciated!! :-*
-
Just connect the oil temp wire for the guage to the same terminal as the mfa wire (both wires on the same terminal).

thats the one that is on the top of the filter housing, the spade connector thing?

want an engine pic ???
-
do i want an engine pic?
-
(http://)
-
if i take a pic of my engine quickly...
i can label all the sensors e.g...(1), (2)
then someone can name them. coz im confused about the senders myself ???
-
too cold outside.ill give it a miss :P
-
ok cool whenever is fine i havebt actually got the senders yet
-
i have fitted my gauges and they all work good! but the temp sender on the filter housing wasnt able to run the mfa and the vdo gauge. so any ideas where i can a)either put a second temp sender, or b) where i can get a t piece adapter from so i can run 2 temp senders from on top of the oil filter housing?
