The central locking on my golf is playing up. The boot, petrol flap and three doors (not driver's) were not locking with the central locking. This was a pain, but managable. However, today the boot and petrol flap have locked and now I can't get into the boot or fill her with juice! Is it the pump? Is it the pipes? Or is it the the control element on the driver's door? Thanks.

sounds like the pumps died if all the systems are playing up , when you lock the drivers door it works of the key hence why its ok if the doors , boot and petrol cap are all playing up , its the pump imo

I hope it's the pump as I have a spare! Will be a bit of a clamber into the boot as it doesn't open!

its easy dude pull your seats forward and reach in a pull the black plastic panel off the inside of the boot lid ther you will see a metal bar pull it upwards and heh presto youre in!!!

I got in ok. Changed the central locking pump, still no joy. Could it be the control element inside the driver's door?

I had exactly this problem on my MK2 and it was the driver's door control unit which had gone!

Cheers. I will get one from the local scrapyard

check the wires havent been pulled out as this can happen if the loom comes un clipped and the window goes down on it causing it to rip it out.ps mk3 will fit aswell as mk2 just different colour wires.
