Title: MkIII Headlight Prob
Post by: mpgscott on 16 January 2004, 20:36
My pal has a MKIII Gti 8v and when you switch from dip to full beam the lights appear bright until you release the switch, so I mean when the stalk is pulled fully back the lights are bright and they then dull very slightly.
I am not being stupid as i do realise that the dip bulbs may still be illuminated but the effect is as if the bulb is getting slightly more juice just for a second very weird!!

Now I have heard of probs with the corrado wiring looms does this same problem effect the mkIII, or is it the switch, as there isint much more to it.

thanks

Mine is the same. I think they are designed this way. Many cars are the same so you are still able to flash your lights on main beam.

I don't know for sure but i never thought it was a fault!

They are crap at lighting up the road tho, main or dipped! Higher intensity bulbs help a bit!
