Title: First service (GTI)
Post by: Paul-GTI on 10 December 2006, 16:43
Hi,

At 8600 miles I just got my "service in 800 Miles" message. So a service at 9400 miles (and an un-needed expense at christmas) it is.

The car was new on April 1, and took the original owner 5 and a half months to rack up 4600 mile, which makes me think it was shortish jouneys. I have done 4000 mile in 3 months (Lots of motorway to and from work, 20 miles each way).

I wasnt expecting to service it this soon, but what do other owners rekon?

Also, what did you pay for your first service?

Cheers, Paul.

I just had to service mine at 9800 miles even though just a week prior it had said 5500 miles to service. ???
Mine cost me 130 quid. I seem to remember getting about 20 quid off
Once the service was reset it now needs a service at 29000 miles hope fully this is true this time  :)

Had mine done at about 10500. It's well worth ringing around the dealer ships as I got ripped off for £210!

Hi all,

Just to let you know I have booked in for the first service. I was ready with the "Well, the suppling dealer will do it for £130" speach, but it was not necessary. £130,and fitted me in at short notice.

Badda-bing, Badda boom.

Well happy..untill i remind myself they only change the oil and kick the tyres...
