Title: Electric Window "clunk click"
Post by: chris_Mk3Annivers on 09 December 2006, 22:21
hi

my driver side electric window has decided to throw a wobbly..
when i press the button down or up i can hear the click inside the door when i press/depress the up/down button.. does this indicate power is there but no motor..?? or has something else happened..??

Regards
Chris

can you hear a noise when u press the electric window switch, if you do then the motor is working and your regulator is damaged. possibly  a faulty wire. Anyway same prob happened to mine and bought a window regualtor from vw and got a garage to fit it instead of them. Touch wood works fine no problems.

I had exactly the same problem when some of the wires in the door hinge inside the rubber boot had snapped, might be worth a check.
