Title: Fuel tank Problems
Post by: SimonGTI8v on 09 December 2006, 19:44
Hi all,

I'm having major issues with removing my fuel tank. I've managed to get all but two bolts undone, the problem is that those two bolts have rusted so badly I can't get a socket to grip on them! It's the bolts that hold the filler neck to the underside of the right side wheel arch.

Being a poor/underpaid council worker I can't afford to get it to a garage to have it done.

I've tried whacking a smaller socket onto them but they've rusted so badly even that's not doing anything.

Does anyone know of an easier way or even a really cheap garage in the Market Rasen area who could remove them?

Cheers
Si

might be worth drilling through the bolts?

Beat a socket onto them with a hammer and undo them like that.
