got the vr6 on the road today
running sweet as a nut all day
then i was waiting outside my gf's work to pick her up ad it cut out on me
got it runnin again started to drive
then that was it smoke pouring under my feet
ecu fuse had fried tok loads of other fuses with it
lost all power pulled up at the side of the road
got towed away again should not be much to sort out
new fuses and fusebox wonder what caused it, the fuse is off when it was a gti
dont know if the just give up after time or something caused it
-
what a bummer, at least it wasnt a blazing inferno though eh
-
yeah at least no one was harmed.
-
That was a close call then, lucky it didn't go up in flames!
-
i no i thought the engine was a gonner but the loom is fine i needed a spanner to take battery off
knocked on a guys door he gave me spanner shut door in my face never offered to help.
i was in a bit of a panic seeing flames wind blew them out when i opened the door
should be fine in no time hopefully

No way matey. After all the time and effort you've put into that it would have been a shame to end like that. Don't loose faith. :afro:

Buy a fire extinguisher! I always carry one! (in the car I mean)
I would say that something must have shorted to cause that!
-
doesnt sound good at all! Hope its all fixed and back to full glory asap!

back on the road again
the relay for the fuel system was 30 and it should of been a 32
changed the fuse box and relays that were damaged and put a 32 in
testing it all day had it running no probs so i been out and about in it again
all seems fine
then the cos pulled me over for no tax but i taxed it yesterday
and the new disc was in my window so he left it at that and admired my car
photos to follow soon when i get the disc from the photoshoot it had at the transporter bridge in middlesbrough

glad its sorted!
bet the copper was impressed when he found it there was a VR lurking with intent under the bonnet.
I thought they took that bridge down and sent it to arizona
-
lol i demanded the bridge back for photos
i turned engine off when i got pulled incase he wanted to get picky and look at everything
-
 glad they cooperated!
my mate had is car properly looked over when he got pulled after racing a Curpa R, in his Mark 1, had a look under the bonnet and everything, dont know what he expected to find. It was a case of good cop bad cop and the good cop liked the car so he just said, "make sure you look after it"
