If it's anything like mine it will be like driving a new car! The VR6 is a nice powerplant and good power can be squeezed out of the original with a bit of fine tweaking :)

I though modern cars ecu's kept everything at there optimum setting so "tuning" in the old sense was not needed.  :undecided:

This is what i want to know would i be just wasting my money as you say the ecus are meant to sort every thing out but can the vr6 be messed around with old school style ie turn a nut hear tweak a bolt there to make it run at its best. Monza when you say anything like mine do you mean you have a vr6 as-well or are you talking about your mk2...............

bulk, I am planning of sticking mine on a rolling road in a couple of months (or longer depending on cash) for my 8V after changing a few bits.

It definately wouldnt hurt your VR6, given the lump you have in it. From what I understand they stick it on connected to a laptop and run it and mess about with the mapping etc until they get it optimal.

It's useful to know if you're producing the power you should be, although little can be done to "tune" - they can plug in VAGCOM and see what's wrong etc but you can do that with a mate in the passenger seat and VAGCOM...

Any tuning up is not possible. It will only tell you what bhp and torque your engine is producing. So that will tell you if its performing correctly but wont tell you if there are any faults and what they are.
If you can get on a group day thing which reduces the cost down to 35/40 quid then its worth doing but as a one off.........

Rolling road in Manchester is £60 for 2WD or £75 for 4WD then the VAT as well

OOps wrong part, this is not for tuning.

Rolling road tuning £105 for 1st hour then VAT  and £45 for each hour after that !!

Didnt realise the price, eff that.

Spend that 100 quid on VAGCOM / a laptop and DIY :)
