Title: VW Sharan VR6 Syncro
Post by: martinb on 30 November 2006, 14:57
Anyone owned one or know what to look out for when buying one?

A good mate of mine is looking to get one (or possibly the ford version as essentially same car although i will try & convince him to go vw!) and has asked if i know anything about them in terms of performance, reliability, running costs etc etc

any info appreciated

cheers

I read that the Sharan's only have 140bhp compared to the Golfs 174bhp (or whatever it is).

Pretty sure it's in the Performance Golf GTI book Tim Stiles wrote. Says not to choose one of them for a transplant because of a lack of power.

Billy had a diesel sharan last year that we took to RTTS, which I drove part way down and it was a nice drive. Useful space etc.
Was even fun on the Cornish lanes when I took a detour to the Cyder Farm!
