Title: Where is the ISV? (AGG 2.0l 8v)
Post by: vwagain on 29 November 2006, 23:59
Can anybody please tell me or better still, post some photos as to where the idle stabilisation valve is on the AGG 2.0l 8v engine is???? The tick over is just getting worse and worse!!!! I've cleaned out the throttle body a few times now which helped a bit but its getting very lumpy on tick over

Cheers,
Stu

The 8v AGG engine doesn't have an ISV mate. I've got a '96 8v AGG and I couldn't believe that it wasn't where it was meant to be as shown in the Haynes manual, but when I read the text (always a good idea!), discovered that there ain't one.
I had the lumpy thing with mine too, along with stalling at junctions when dipping the clutch, but THOROUGHLY cleaned the butterfly on the throttle body with carb cleaner and cotton buds, and replaced the crankcase breather hose which was perished on its' underside (£15 on ebay), and all is well.
