Now why is it that the UK seems to get such a weak effort on limited editions and good quality marketing? I mean look at these, firstly, genuine limited edition models:

for 28k dollars - a comedy price.
Then, how about a marketing effort of giving away an electric guitar with each GTI sold that can be plugged straight in to the car audio system:

Now, I would have no use for the guitar but for pure effort and making you feel good about the brand you can't fault it.
What do we get? An over priced, not particularly 'special' 30th anniversary editon not really even advertised because they know they will all sell anyway.

They put the anniversary model to shame...and that guitar idea is great! I'm surprised how much detail has been put into each one

Quality
That guitar is mint!
should send that to VW UK and tell them to buck up their ideas!! Not impressed with our version of the 30th Anniversary model

That guitar looks the spit of one I built - and I've never heard of first act inc! check it out: http://www.iol.ie/~locoblade/guitar/guitar.html - freaky or what!

I bet in 15 years the guitar will be worth more than the car !

VW UK won't try anything like that because they know we will keep on buying their cars despite naff advertising and even worse customer relations. In the U.S nobody drives vw's .. infact more people drive Kia's than they do vw's... so they really have to try to get the customers.. and with these colours/offers they're obviously going after the younger/feminine/gay markets.
