Title: Possible problems with a 2001 Mk4 150bhp T GTI (62,000 miles)
Post by: Jimbo100 on 27 November 2006, 17:19
Hey

Just bought a 2001 silver Golf T GTI Mk4 5 dr. Absolutely love it. Just wondering if anyone could tell me things I could look out for that may start to go wrong with the car. It has done 62,000 miles (regularly serviced), and I am about to get the cambelt and water pump changed after reading postings on the forum that recommend it being done about now. Anything else I could do to ensure the car runs well and to avoid major probs in the future (like the cambelt going etc!).

Cheers (Great forum by the way!, very useful)
Jimbo

Likewise just got MK4 2004 16v 150BHP, on Saturday, comes with 3 year warranty, but would rather pre empt any problems.

Also any xtras that add value/power that anyone can recomend?

thanks and great forum - give me a month and I might even work out how to put a photo of the car on here!
