Title: fuel pump location help please

does anybody know where the fuel pump is located on the mk3 gti 8v agg engine?

cars died once again but mate reckons its the fuel pump so???

not yet got a haynes for it and cant see it underneath so basically were buggerd untill we can find it then we can change it and see if the beast starts again, was funny really she came in from shopping left the car for 5 mins went back out and that was it just totally non starter, tried bump it down road but still no joy

if its not the fuel pump has any1 got any ideas?

Sould be in the tank......under the panel that's bolted on under your rear seat/boot area and it's shiny silver colour..... post more detail's about it not starting (I have never come accross problem's with mk3 fuel pump's)

well finally found it, under the boot carpet, anyway it turned out thatthe fuel pump was working fine, just the coil had gone!, not bad tho probally been on since new! funny thing is i was changing the plugs then it came to me that it could be not sparking so did the usual plug onto metal and it wasnt giving anything off at all, £45 problem solved!
